Hi! I’m back (again) and I really hope that my three weeks of internet and computer frustration are now finally over. But more on that below. As we had all of this trouble getting our internet connection fixed, I needed some way to vent my frustration at this process. So what better way than a cartoon? I hope you enjoy (and that my actual point isn’t too vague).
The new origami tutorial is up! Yes, after months of silence, TutOrigami is back in business!
The first post is my own tutorial, How to Fold an Origami Envelope. Just click on the picture below to go directly to the tutorial.
Hi everyone! Guess what I want to shout right now?
This was a really lame cartoon, I’m sorry. I wanted to add more panels and reactions and things, but then my internet just died last night when I was composing this post. I think it must have hit the bandwidth limit. Oopsie. That’s embarrassing. Too many vlogbrothers videos, maybe? That’s another thing I do when procrastinating, and it’s kind of addicting. This is why this post is even later than usual. I’m in the university library right now, using stupid, slow Internet Explorer to write this. Ugh.
I had to get it published before NaNoWriMo starts, because I also have to add that I don’t know how regular updates will be between exams and novel-writing and everything else I complained about above. I’ll try to update on my writing and I have a few cartoons that I can upload, so we’ll just have to see how far I get. Anyway, if you want to laugh at my failure to write, the NaNo widgets have made a reappearance in my sidebar –> right underneath the follow icons. It’ll update with my word count, if you’re interested. Now I can just hope my internet makes a reappearance tomorrow.
Speaking of NaNoWriMo, I made myself a word count calendar this year and I’m uploading it to the internet if anyone else wants to use it. Feel free to download it, save it as your wallpaper, print it or share it with your friends! Just don’t remove my watermark, or distribute it as your own.
Featuring: a Lord of the Rings themed NaNoWriMo calendar. (I took the opportunity to compare NaNo to an epic journey, Frodo’s to be specific.)
Size: 1920 x 1080 (HD)

Now, for the random stuff (yes, this post is long, consider it making up for future lack of posting): when I started this cartoon, I thought of this book cover:
Don’t panic! That’s advice I could do with remembering! That’s The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, for those who can’t tell.
And then… as I took this picture, I though “How many things are there sticking out about my head?! Seriously…” So then I made this (I was bored):
Okay, that is probably quite enough. I’m going to look for a novel plot now. Find me on Tumblr for more NaNo related stuff, or check the sidebar widget and good luck to everyone else participating!
Happy Hallowe’en! :[
I have pretty terrible handwriting. I always used to get in trouble in first grade over my inability to write exactly on the line. Guess what, I still don’t write on the line. I write between the lines (and read, hehe. Sorry. *cough*) but my letters don’t exactly touch the line. And I hold a pen wrong apparently, but that is neither here nor there. In fact, sometimes it looks as if a crab, or a spider, got in some ink and walked all over my page. Random thought: a crab would probably be better at this than a spider, seeing that they walk sideways already…
If you still don’t believe me, here is a shot of my recent class notes:
My habit of sometimes writing three lines inside one printed line is not helping matters either…
Hope you enjoyed those drawings without even a single stick figure! The other thing is…
You may have noticed something a little different round here. I hope none of you thought that you ended up on the wrong blog! Yes, I changed my theme and did a complete redesign, using my own header and background this time. My old theme has bothered me for a long time. I like the playfulness and the fun of it, especially in the details, but I long felt that it was too “busy” for my content. My content is already so bright and varied that the large, bright header and background felt too much. I needed something cleaner, because I want people to come to my blog for the content and not have that overshadowed by my theme. I also did not like that my old theme did not display my images very large. I draw them much larger than you ever saw on the blog before, and I want to utilise that. This theme has a huge display, yay!
I also added some follow buttons over there in the sidebar –> (I think you may have to scroll upwards at this point). Yes, I made them too. I have Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads, Bloglovin’, RSS feed and, of course, a Tumblr in there. Feel free to follow me there! I don’t use my Tumblr much – usually only to “like” or reblog and follow other Tumblrs. But sometimes I post quotes that I decorate on there that I do not post here.
See you again soon!
Oh, PS. New origami tutorial is (finally) up!
Go check it out! (Click on the picture.)
Okay, that title came out a bit awkward. But it does still say exactly what this post is about, albeit with a strange combination. So, new cartoon and new origami tutorials today!
First things first:
The Umbrella Chronicles
It happened this week. Well, actually it happens so often that they can start using me as a form of weather prediction. It will rain on the day that Elana leaves her umbrella at home! Yes, I got caught outside without my umbrella, and obviously I was very far from a building. By the time that I had run into one, I was more or less soaked. But the thing is, you see, I almost always have my umbrella on me when I go out for the day. Winter and summer. When it doesn’t rain, I use it to walk under if I go in the sun, because I’m trying to avoid getting tanned. But then sometimes… it looks like rain the entire week, but it does not rain… until this happens:
I hope everyone has a great week and that you won’t be caught without your weather-protective gear!
