This cartoon is a bit outdated by now. January is the time for thinking about these things, not February. However, I could not post it in January, because— Oh, you probably all know why by now.
So after Wednesday’s long, rambling, text part of the post, there were still several things that I’d forgotten to say. In fact, these things were probably more important than my complaints about ineffective call centres, but they are still not very important. This is, therefore, just a general blog-housekeeping post. Hi! I’m back (again) and I really hope that my three weeks of internet and computer frustration are now finally over. But more on that below. As we had all of this trouble getting our internet connection fixed, I needed some way to vent my frustration at this process. So what better way than a cartoon? I hope you enjoy (and that my actual point isn’t too vague).
Hi. I have been absent from the blog again. I had so been hoping to post regularly again, but the mundane had other plans. Simply put, my internet died. This time it was not me hitting the data cap, or some inexplicable internet silence that lasts some hours. It died, well and properly. It did not go down like a hero, fighting until the last, but I can only hope that it will have some characteristics of the archetypal, ever-renewed hero who will rise again when need is greatest. Now I can only wonder how long still before my need is greatest… It’s been a whole week. I am growing more and more bored and frustrated. Yes, I know I am addicted to the internet to a certain degree. I also know that I can live without it, but that I don’t want to. I am alone most of the time and though I am happy to be that way, the internet has taught me what community is and to have that torn away from you… Continue reading
Dear me, things have been way too serious around here of late. Just look at all the serious topics we’ve dealt with: from job interviews to the future of little children to Hobbit movies… Something needs to be done. We need something a little more light-hearted, what do you say?
